Active Essex – Thurrock
Supporting mothers through movement, wellbeing, and meaningful community connections.

About The Project
The Thurrock Mama Meet-Up project, delivered in partnership with Active Essex, was designed to support mothers through gentle outdoor activities, peer support, and meaningful community connections.

What began as a 12-week pilot programme quickly expanded to 28 weeks due to overwhelming demand. Through weekly walks and family-friendly sessions, mothers were able to improve their wellbeing, reduce isolation, build friendships, and enjoy a welcoming space where they felt supported and encouraged.
