Hackney Giving Cost of  Living Support

Supporting families during the rise in the cost of living.

The Mummy’s Day Out initiative at Kindhaus, part of the Cost of Living Giving Project in Hackney, was created to offer practical support, connection, and relief to mothers navigating the challenges of rising living costs. This community-driven project focused on meeting immediate needs while fostering a sense of belonging and resilience among local mothers.

The initiative provided a warm, safe, and child-friendly haven where mothers could enjoy culturally sensitive hot meals, receive financial support for electricity and gas bills, and build meaningful social networks. Through this supportive environment, participants found not only practical assistance but also a much-needed sense of community and empowerment during challenging times.
